A plugged dryer vent can cause excessive heat build up within the vent itself and the drying appliance , resulting in possible fire.

Rather than a faulty dryer, clogged ductwork may be the culprit. The removable dryer lint filter catches most of the lint as it passes through a load of laundry. But, pieces of lint can sneak past the filter and get stuck in crevices along the dryer duct.
When there’s a buildup of lint, airflow is restricted, which can lead to overheating. If the air inside the duct gets hot enough, it can ignite the lint and cause a dryer fire. The dryer duct service that we offer is a cleaning of the entire dryer exhaust system. This includes everything from the back of the dryer, all the way out to the terminal cap outside. Our CDET (Certified Dryer Exhaust Technician) will slide the dryer out of the way, remove the transition duct, which is the piece that connects the dryer to the main sheet metal duct in the wall. We will hand clean the transition duct piece, and then clean the entire length of the permanent sheet metal duct that leads all the way to the outside.

Does your business have a clothes dryer?
If so, you have a hidden hazard! Dryers, especially those that are used frequently for commercial use, can collect excess lint and debris in the vent line. This excess lint is the most common source of ignition for dryer fires, which account for 15,500 fires every year. In addition to the risk of fire, excess lint and debris can lead to clogs and decreased efficiency, as well as additional energy use. Comfort Clean provides professional commercial dryer vent cleaning services to a wide variety of businesses with clothes dryers.

How often do dryer vents need cleaning?
The more efficiently a dryer vent exhausts air, the less lint build up in it. Generally, short exhaust better than long ones and full size dryers exhaust better than smaller stack dryers. For obvious reasons , newer dryers may exhaust better than older ones. Vents with multiple turns and elbows are likely to build up more lint. Very short vents attached to full size dryers may rarely need cleaning. Most vents, however, require annual cleaning.
Is vinyl or foil ducting safe?
No. Plastic or foil flexible duct ( cheap and easy to install ) might seem like just the thing for exhausting a dryer, it isn’t. This type of exhaust duct , which resembles a plastic covered slinky toy can pose a serious fire hazard since it is susceptible to heat failure , collapse and generally causes an undue amount of lint to adhere to it’s inner surface thereby prone to becoming completed clogged.
Does dust affect health?
When the system is turned on, clouds of dust are blown into your home. Research has shown that the air inside houses can contain much more dust than outdoors, if you do not clean the house and ducts!
Why is my house dusty?
The accumulation of dust in houses is the result of airflow because too much dirty, dust-filled air circulates inside of your home or because not enough air is circulated throughout the home, allowing the dust to settle.
