What air duct cleaning really costs
Air duct cleaning cost is the first thing most people want to know, and the hardest thing to get a straight answer on. Most companies advertise a low “from” price, then the real duct cleaning cost only appears once a technician is standing in your basement. Comfort Clean does it the other way around. We have cleaned ducts across Toronto and the GTA since 1980, and our duct cleaning prices are posted right here so you can decide before you book, not after.
This page lays out exactly what each package costs, what separates one tier from the next, and what can move the final number for your home. There is no trip fee hidden in the fine print and no per-hour billing. What you read below is what you pay, and we confirm the total on the phone before we ever schedule the visit.

Basic and Comfort cover up to 10 vents and Luxury covers up to 15. Past that, we add a flat $12 per extra vent, so a 20-vent home on the Comfort package is $399 plus ten extra vents, or $519. That is the whole formula. Count your supply and return registers, pick a package, and you already know your price within a few dollars.
Basic vs Comfort: what the extra $70 actually buys
These two tiers are only $70 apart, so it is fair to ask what the difference really is. Here it is, in plain terms.
Basic ($329) cleans the supply side of your system: the supply connection at the furnace, the supply main line and every supply run out to the rooms, up to 10 vents. We use truck-mounted, negative-pressure vacuum with brushing, and you get before-and-after photos of the inside of your ducts.
Comfort ($399) adds the other half of the system:
- The return side. We connect to the return as well and clean the return lines and the return main line, where much of the household dust, pet hair and lint is pulled back toward the furnace.
- J-channel cleaning, which is part of the Comfort and Luxury packages.
- Before-and-after photos, the same as with every package.
Because the return side is where dust builds up fastest, Comfort is the tier most homes with pets, allergies or a recent renovation are glad they chose. The $70 is the difference between cleaning half of the duct system and cleaning all of it.
Luxury ($499) covers up to 15 vents and includes everything in Comfort, plus two more steps: cleaning the furnace blower compartment, where dust cakes onto the fan and slows your airflow, and sanitizing and disinfecting the ductwork with a natural product, Benefect. It is the right pick after a major renovation, after a mould or smoke concern, when a stale smell comes from the vents, or when a home has never been cleaned in the time you have owned it.
What affects the final price
The package price is the honest starting point for a standard home. A few real things can move the number, and we tell you about all of them before you book, never at the door:
- Number of vents. Count your registers. Basic and Comfort cover up to 10 vents and Luxury up to 15; beyond that it is a flat $12 per extra vent, and nothing else.
- System type and condition. A system that has never been cleaned, or one full of post-construction drywall dust, heavy pet hair or the aftermath of a renovation, takes more time and equipment. Very heavy jobs are the one case where we may quote above the package, and we do it on the phone, with the reason spelled out.
- Single vs multi-furnace. If your home runs on two furnaces or two separate air handlers, that is effectively two duct systems, each with its own trunks and returns. A second system is priced separately because it is a second clean. Larger and multi-level homes are the usual case here.
No “from $49” games. Ever.
You have seen the ads: air duct cleaning “from $49” or “$79 whole home.” Almost no honest, insured, truck-mounted crew can clean a real duct system for that, and the companies that advertise it are not planning to. The low number gets them in your door, then the price climbs fast once they are inside: per-vent charges, sanitizing “upgrades,” a mandatory “deep clean,” a fee to actually turn the vacuum on. The final bill often lands well above our flat package price, for less work.
