Ontario Wildfire Smoke
May Still Be Inside Your Home

Whitby runs from Lake Ontario north to the farmland around Brooklin, and broadly its houses get newer as you head north. Downtown Whitby, around the four corners of Brock Street and Dundas Street, and Port Whitby by the harbour hold the oldest homes, with century houses mixed in among post-war builds. Blue Grass Meadows, Pringle Creek, Rolling Acres and Lynde Creek are established subdivisions of detached homes, semis and townhouses from the later decades of the last century, and Williamsburg and Taunton North in the north end are newer again. Brooklin, the old village in the north of town, is where much of Whitby’s new building is happening, with subdivisions spreading out from its original main street on Baldwin Street.
Each part of town fills its ducts differently. In the older downtown and Port Whitby homes, forced-air heating was often added or upgraded long after the house was built, so the runs can be patched, extended or tucked into odd spaces, with decades of fine dust and plaster debris inside. In the established subdivisions the furnace has often been replaced at least once while the ducts are original, and pet hair, lint and drywall dust from a basement finish settle in the return runs. New Brooklin homes carry construction dust that was never cleaned out before move-in, and a heating season that runs roughly November to March keeps all of it moving.
Our office is at 4949 Bathurst Street in North York, about 50 km west of Whitby along the 401. Whitby jobs are scheduled visits on our regular Durham routes, the same runs as Pickering and Ajax, with no trip fee inside our service area and the total confirmed by phone before you book. We look at the furnace and duct layout first, then clean with a truck-mounted negative-pressure vacuum and brushing. Basic ($329) covers the supply side, Comfort ($399) adds the return side and J-channel, and Luxury ($499) adds the furnace blower compartment and sanitizing with Benefect, a natural product. Basic and Comfort cover up to 10 vents and Luxury up to 15, extra vents are $12, and every package includes before-and-after photos. See our duct cleaning prices. We are family run since 1980, a CNADCA member, rated 4.8 on Google from 300+ reviews.
In the older downtown homes and post-war bungalows the dryer usually sits in the basement and vents straight out through the wall near grade, where lint and drifting snow can keep the flap from closing. Many townhouses and newer two-storey homes put the laundry upstairs, and that longer run through walls and ceilings, with more bends, collects more lint. Our dryer vent cleaning clears the full line with high-pressure air tools, from the dryer to the exterior hood, in 45 to 90 minutes for most homes. Basement or main floor vents are $280, second floor $320 and attic $480, confirmed after a brief inspection, and the work is priced separately from the duct packages.
Whitby furnaces work hard through a Durham winter, and the blower compartment holds the dust the returns bring back. The Luxury package includes the blower compartment clean, and a full furnace cleaning can be added to the visit, priced by quote, as can humidifier, HRV and AC coil cleaning. We clean only. We do not repair or replace furnace or AC parts, handle gas or refrigerant, or certify safety, and anything that looks unsafe is pointed out and photographed for a licensed HVAC technician.
With more than 45 years across the GTA, our trained technicians have cleaned everything from older homes to new builds and condos in and around Whitby. We know local ductwork and treat every home with care.
We don’t use weak portable vacuums. Our high-suction, truck-mounted compression systems pull debris out of your home and into our truck, ensuring a mess-free, deep clean.
Clogged ducts make your HVAC system work harder, and the dust they circulate can bother people with asthma or allergies. A thorough cleaning restores proper airflow.
No hidden fees and no bait and switch. You will know the exact rate for your home or business in Whitby before we start, with the price posted up front.
Our reputation in Whitby is built on word of mouth. We use drop cloths and protective gear to keep your space clean, and we back every job with before-and-after photos.
Unnecessary services are never pushed. If your system is in good condition, we’ll tell you.

South of Highway 401 we work Port Whitby and the streets around the harbour and the Whitby GO station, along Brock Street South and Victoria Street. Downtown Whitby covers the older streets around Brock and Dundas. Through the middle and west of town we clean in Blue Grass Meadows, Lynde Creek, Pringle Creek and Rolling Acres, off Dundas Street, Rossland Road, Cochrane Street, Anderson Street and Thickson Road, and in the north end Williamsburg and Taunton North along Taunton Road and Garden Street. In Brooklin we cover the old village around Baldwin Street and Winchester Road and the new subdivisions growing around it.
Most Whitby streets are detached two-storey homes, back-splits and bungalows, with semis and freehold townhouses through the newer areas and a smaller number of condo buildings. Townhouses usually have the furnace and water heater in one small utility room with short duct runs, so the dryer vent is easy to add to the same visit. For a new Brooklin home, a first cleaning after the basement is finished and the last trades are gone clears the drywall dust before it settles in for years. A detached home with a finished basement often has more than 10 vents, so we count them with you on the phone.
For businesses we clean offices, shops and small commercial spaces, from the plazas along Dundas Street and Taunton Road to the commercial and light industrial units off Thickson Road near the 401; see commercial duct cleaning. Commercial jobs start with a walk-through, and because we work 8am to 6pm seven days a week, the cleaning can be scheduled for a weekend. West along the 401 we also clean in Pickering and Ajax and Scarborough.
Our posted packages are $329 for Basic (supply side), $399 for Comfort (supply and return plus the J-channel) and $499 for Luxury, which adds the furnace blower compartment and sanitizing. Basic and Comfort cover up to 10 vents, Luxury up to 15, and extra vents are $12 each. When you compare a lower quote, ask whether it includes the return side and what extra vents cost. We confirm your total by phone before booking.
Sometimes, and we will tell you when it is not. The U.S. EPA suggests considering it when ducts are clogged with dust and debris, show substantial visible mould or have had rodents or insects, and notes it has not been shown to prevent health problems. In Whitby it usually pays off after a renovation, in a new Brooklin build, or in an older home whose ducts have never been cleaned.
The main ones are cost and expectations. Duct cleaning will not cure allergies on its own, and a rushed job with weak equipment can loosen dust without removing it, leaving the house dustier for a while. That is why we work under negative pressure from a truck-mounted vacuum, so loosened debris is pulled out to the truck rather than blown into your rooms. A system that was cleaned recently usually does not need it again yet.
Any time works, because the ducts are cleaned the same way in July or January. Fall is a popular choice, before the heating season starts around November, and spring works well once the furnace slows down and before the AC takes over. Whitby visits are scheduled on our regular Durham routes, so calling ahead gives you more choice of days, especially in the busy weeks before winter.
Yes. Brooklin is part of our Whitby work, both the older homes in the original village around Baldwin Street and Winchester Road and the new subdivisions around it. In the new builds the first cleaning usually comes after the last trades leave or once the basement is finished, to clear drywall dust and construction debris. In the older village homes we look over the furnace and duct layout first, since heating has often been updated.
Dryer vent cleaning in Whitby is $280 for a main floor or basement dryer, $320 for a second floor and $480 for an attic run, confirmed after a brief inspection of the length, turns and access. Basement dryers in older downtown homes usually have short runs, while many newer homes in Brooklin and Taunton North put the laundry upstairs, which means a longer line. Most jobs take 45 to 90 minutes and can be added to your duct visit.
